Targeted Support…

(Re)build an Aligned and Effective Internal Organization

Internal ways of working are often overlooked, although they directly shape an organization’s ability to act collectively toward sustainable impact.

We support structures through phases of internal structuring or realignment, helping to restore clarity, strengthen collaboration, and enable the them to evolve, without adding unnecessary complexity.

  • Over time, as organizations grow, contexts evolve, or informal practices accumulate, many actors face internal operational challenges: unclear roles, workload overload, inefficient processes, slow decision-making, recurring tensions, or misalignment between governance, leadership, and teams.

These situations are not necessarily signs of major dysfunction, but rather of organizations that have evolved without their internal operating frameworks adapting accordingly. Without clarification, such imbalances can weaken decision-making, exhaust teams, and divert collective energy away from the mission.

Our intervention aims to help organizations (re)establish clear, appropriate, and shared operating frameworks in order to streamline decision-making, strengthen cooperation, and support sustained action over time.

  • We start from your organizational reality: what works, what has developed informally, and what needs to be clarified or adjusted.

Depending on the situation, we may step in to:

    • Analyze existing ways of working: governance, roles and responsibilities, decision-making processes, and coordination mechanisms.

    • Clarifying responsibilities and decision-making spaces between governance, leadership, and teams.

    • Adjusting key processes to make them clearer and more effective.

    • Supporting teams in owning changes, taking into account collective dynamics, and potential existing tensions.

Missions are co-designed with team members to develop simple, practical processes and tools that are genuinely used in daily operations.

    • A shared and consistent understanding of your internal ways of working and the friction points that need addressing.

    • Clear decisions on governance, roles, and processes.

    • Simple management tools to improve coordination, prioritization, and delegation.

    • Clearer, smoother and sustainable processes and organizational structures aligned with its ambitions.

The objective is a concrete, pragmatic, and sustainable transformation, one that the organization can drive forward independently, within a stronger framework.

    • In-depth organizational diagnostics: Review of roles, governance bodies, processes, and internal dynamics across one or several departments, or the organization as a whole.

    • Clarification of roles and responsibilities: RACI-type responsibility matrices, role descriptions, and functional organizational charts.

    • Redesign of governance and steering bodies: Alignment between the board, executive leadership, and teams, including decision-making mechanisms.

    • Redesign of coordination processes: Simplification of decision-making pathways, definition of key roles, and creation of governance practices and management tools.

    • Support during structuring or scaling phases: Adjustment of internal frameworks and implementation support.

Clarifying Organizational Trajectory and Operational Strategy

Regardless of their nature, their sector of intervention or their history, all organizations reach a moment when they need to take a step back to (re)assess and rethink the overall purpose of their work.

We support organizations through these phases of reflection and decision-making, helping them assess the impact of their actions and build clear, operational strategic plans.

  • Over time, organizations may accumulate projects, priorities, and sometimes conflicting demands. Strategy can then become overly implicit, fragmented, or difficult to translate into day-to-day action.

These situations often arise at key turning points: impact assessments, scaling phases, strategic reviews, changes in the operational context, the arrival of new partners, or shifts in governance.

Without clarification, teams struggle to make decisions, set priorities, and plan ahead, which can lead to dispersion, organizational fatigue, or a loss of coherence.

Our intervention aims to help organizations take a structural pause to clarify their ambition, make deliberate choices, and translate them into a realistic and engaging operational strategy.

  • We view strategy as a collective process, grounded in the organization’s reality and its field of action. Our approach combines shared analysis, collective workshops, and decision-making support.

    Concretely, we support to:

    • Analyze the internal and external challenges shaping the organization’s work.

    • Clarify strategic directions and medium- to long-term priorities.

    • Translate these directions into operational objectives, define indicators to track them, and define the associated roles.

    • Support leadership teams and governance bodies in decision-making and in taking ownership of the strategic direction.

Each mission is tailor-made, taking into consideration the structure’s constraints, resources, and level of organizational maturity.

    • A clear, accessible, and shareable strategic direction, both internally and externally.

    • Deliberate priorities, aligned with the organization’s actual capacities.

    • Stronger alignment between ambition, decision-making, and operational realities.

    • Better equipped teams to steer and adjust action over time.

The objective is to enable the organization to move forward with greater clarity and coherence, without losing sight of its mission or its constraints.

    • Strategy development and operational planning: Shared analysis of key challenges, forward-looking workshops, definition of strategic directions, and operational translation (objectives, indicators, roles and responsibilities, and action plans).

    • Support in clarifying strategic priorities: Selection of initiatives, prioritization, and roadmap development.

    • Support to governance bodies and leadership teams: guidance on strategic decision-making and alignment of directions.

    • Impact studies: Evaluation of projects or programs, with strategic and operational recommendations to inform future initiatives.

Structuring Responsible Partnerships and Support Mechanisms

The quality of financial and extra-financial partnerships and support mechanisms is a determining factor in philanthropic actors’ ability to secure their impact and act effectively over the long term.

We support funders and project leaders in structuring clear, balanced relationships, as well as responsible support mechanisms adapted to on-the-ground realities.

  • Many funding organizations, foundations, and donors seek to align their funding practices with their values and impact ambitions, particularly when supporting community-based or high social-impact organizations.
In practice, these relationships can be weakened by areas of ambiguity: unclear selection criteria, heavy or ill-adapted monitoring processes, approaches perceived as top-down, or difficulties in fully understanding on-the-ground realities.

These limitations can undermine the quality of partnerships, generate frustration on both sides, and reduce the real impact of the funding provided.

Our intervention aims to support funders in structuring their partner selection, monitoring, and support approaches, integrating simple tools, a more horizontal posture, and a capacity-strengthening perspective.

The objective of the mission is to create the conditions for sustainable, clear, and meaningful collaborations for all stakeholders, in order to maximize the impact of the support provided.

  • We combine rigorous analysis of existing practices with tailored support to strengthen your internal capacities.

    • We analyse your partnership and funding practices: posture, processes, tools, shared visions (if necessary, through an comprehensive organizational diagnostic).

    • We strengthen the capacities of your teams to evaluate, support and fund your partners through an organizational strengthening approach: due diligence, capacity monitoring, strategic support, dedicated training.

    • We help you design or revise practical, context-appropriate support mechanisms: calls for proposals, evaluation grids, monitoring tools, and non-financial support systems.

This initiative ensures more balanced, transparent partnerships, focused on lasting impact.

    • Greater clarity and consistency in your partner relationships, based on clear and shared criteria.

    • Strengthened internal teams, able to evaluate and support partners with rigor and relevance.

    • Innovative, flexible and tailored support mechanisms, that foster impactful and sustainable support.

    • A funder/partner relationship grounded in trust, transparency and shared accountability.

    • Operational partnership and funding strategy: Review of positioning, support in designing calls for proposals aligned with operational strategy, development of partner and impact monitoring systems, and design of support mechanisms.

    • Mapping and selection of partners: Identification of actors, analysis of funding mechanisms, strategic alignment.

    • Diagnostic and due diligence of partners’ operational and organizational capacities: Due diligence, governance, operational capacity, risk management, safeguarding.

    • Internal capacity building for partner evaluation: Training, coaching, and shared evaluation tools (RACI charts, processes, decision-making processes, etc.).

    • Support for pilot partnership projects: Implementation of horizontal collaboration plans, capacity monitoring, mutual evaluation, and continuous adaptation.

Preparing for or Responding to a Crisis, Emergency, or Sensitive Phase

Situations of crisis or heightened tension can put organizations, their teams, and their governance bodies to the test at any time.

We support teams through these critical phases, by providing structure, clarity, and context-appropriate operational support.

  • Crisis situations can take many different forms: internal tensions, serious incidents, governance crises, poorly anticipated risks, or reputational crises.

During these critical moments, organizations must act quickly and clearly, while preserving human and institutional balances.

Without adequate preparation or support, crisis management can quickly become disorganized, exacerbate existing tensions, or have lasting weakening effects on the organization.

Our intervention aims to help organizations anticipate these sensitive situations, organize an effective response when a crisis occurs, and draw lasting lessons from the experience.

  • We combine organizational structuring, support for steering and decision-making, and team accompaniment, adapting each intervention to the organization’s context, challenges, and available resources.

Depending on the situation, we may intervene:

    • In anticipation, by identifying vulnerabilities, clarifying responsibilities, and preparing teams (protocols, training, simulations).

    • During a crisis, through rapid support for diagnosis, governance, decision-making, and mediation.

    • In the aftermath of a crisis, to secure necessary adjustments and strengthen organizational resilience.

All missions are systematically co-designed with teams to deliver operational deliverables that can be immediately used.

    • Stronger preparedness for critical risks.

    • Greater capacity to steer sensitive situations.

    • Human-centered support to contain tensions and preserve cohesion.

    • Tools and action plans that remain usable over time.

The objective is to turn crisis management into a lever for resilience and agility, enabling the organization to continue moving forward even in challenging circumstances.

    • Diagnostic and crisis management plan: Assessment of the existing system, co-identification of risks, operational recommendations, and development of an action plan.

    • Simulation and preparedness: Development of realistic scenarios, training and collective simulation workshops, and creation of quick-reference guides.

    • Strategic support in real-time / during a crisis: Remote and/or on-site support for governance assistance, emergency mediation, facilitation of critical meetings, internal and external communication support, and crisis exit planning.

    • Post-crisis support and rebuilding: Shared post-event diagnostic, redefinition of responsibilities, governance and action plan, implementation of ongoing monitoring (tools, indicators, and management practices).
